Are you ready for a mixture of nostalgia, adventure, beautiful hiking trails and breathtaking views? Then the Buiräbähnli Safari around Engelberg (cable cars for mountain farmers) is just the thing for you! You can literally "learn" more about these 8 rustic cable cars on this very special hike.

Alpin Cheese Trail
Passing by seven different Alpine dairies, the Alpine Cheese Trail is an attractive hiking route through Engelberg’s varied natural landscape. At the farms, you will learn all there is to know about traditional Alpine cheeses and the hard lives of the Alpine farmers who graze their animals up in the mountains each summer.

Erlebnisweg Engelberger Aaschlucht
An adventure trail through the wild and romantic Aaschlucht, past boulders and over numerous bridges, which is also ideal for hiking on hot days thanks to its shady location. The numerous fireplaces and picnic spots along the way are not just for families.

Bergblumenpfad
The mountain plants are exposed to the extreme living conditions in the alpine mountain environment. At the higher altitudes, the summer is very short and the plants have little time to bloom. On the created mountain flower trails on Gerschnialp and Trübsee the visitor learns in an uncomplicated way about different mountain flower species and their living conditions. Surrounded by an impressive alpine mountain and glacier world, the hiker can learn about the mountain flowers that have settled in our area by means of yellow panels.

Trübsee-Stand geology trail
Panorama trail with impressive views down towards Trübsee and Engelberg. On the geology trail from Trübsee to Stand, you will learn plenty about the geology of the Alps. Info boards provide an insight into the geological development of the TITLIS area, while the steep panoramic trail from Trübsee mountain station to Stand offers magnificent views down into a fascinating glacier world. This trail is sure to impress with its stunning views.

Trickle trail, Brunni
The tickle trail at the top station of the Brunni chairlift offers a special kind of thrill. The barefoot trail around the idyllic Härzlisee, located at 1860 m above sea level, is unique in the mountains. On the 220 m long trail, the focus is on experiencing nature and promoting general well-being. Not only is it a great pleasure to walk, feel and experience the changing surfaces (sand, wood chips, pebbles, clay, water, etc.) without shoes, but the foot massage of a special kind circulates the blood to the feet and thus has a positive effect on the entire organism; the cardiovascular system is improved, the immune system is activated and vitality is strengthened according to the Kneipp principles. The barefoot path is suitable for young and old alike.

Swimming

Children love water and on hot days the whole family is happy about the welcome cooling after a hike or bike tour. In the village, a visit to the outdoor pool Sonnenberg with breathtaking scenery is worthwhile, but also numerous mountain lakes and mountain streams tempt on hot summer days to jump into the cool water.

Swim a few laps or just take a relaxing dip in the refreshing pools at the Sonnenberg swim center. There’s a 25-meter indoor pool as well as a 50-meter outdoor pool. Jump in, take some time to relax and enjoy. For the youngsters there are both indoor and outdoor kiddie pools. If you work up an appetite after an invigorating round of exercise, take advantage of the pool’s snack bar and bistro.

Lake Härzlisee, Brunni
Refresh yourself in the Lake Härzlisee on Brunni and enjoy a breathtaking view. In addition, the Kneipp and barefoot path "Kitzelpfad" and the "Kitzeltopf" await you around the Lake.

Out into the fun! Several children's playgrounds offer fun and action for the little visitors.

Playground Fürenalp
On the Fürenalp, right next to the mountain restaurant, a beautiful playground awaits the children, which fits perfectly into nature. A trampoline that tempts to flights of fancy, a slide that invites to rush down, a babbling mountain stream and much more awaits the little guests.

Globi's alpine playground
Under the motto "bounce, jump, swing, be funny", various play equipment is ready for the children: the popular trampoline, the bouncy castle, a carousel, swings, a climbing tower, a long slide and much more. With the summer toboggan run and Globi's wild water world, the play experience becomes a child's dream come true. 3 fireplaces with 10 seats each invite you to strengthen and rest after all the play fun.

Adventure playground Trübsee
Under the motto "Smugglers & Muleteers", a large playground awaits you on Trübsee, as well as a wonderful recreation zone with picnic areas and barbecue grills. An exciting treasure hunt leads around the lake. The smuggler "Engelbert" regularly has to make the arduous journey with his mule "Schmuggli" from Engelberg over the Jochpass to Engstlenalp. This is how the story on which the new themed playground is based begins.

Robinson playgrond Grotzenwäldli
After a short walk from the Brunni valley station, you reach the Robinson playground in the Engelberg district of Horbis. The many activities around the small lake leave hardly anything to be desired. The little ones become pirates and explorers on the island, the tower with slide, the bridges and the flippers. For refreshment before the next lake battle, several fireplaces are available. Wood can be used for a fee.

Kurpark playground
The Kurpark playground is located in the village center of Engelberg. Next to the large park you will find a small children's paradise. With swings, a slide, a climbing tower as well as a sand area with a small fountain, everything is provided for children to let off steam and for parents to soak up the sun in the meantime.
